The Bible is perhaps the most important set of documents or writings to a Christian. It contains the words and teachings of God through the prophets and through Jesus Christ. It is an instrument to teach the people the means to become a true Christian and to be truly closer to the Lord. It also narrates the life of Jesus Christ and His teachings.

It is of common knowledge that the best way to teach a person is to start when he is still very young. Ideas scan be better embedded in us if they have been presented to us and are being practiced starting from an early age. What we are at present is a creation of what we learned and experience in the early stages of our lives.

When it comes to teaching religion, the same principle also applies. In the expectancy of becoming model Christians in the future, children are being taught Christian values at the earliest opportunity possible. This is the rationale behind the development of the kids’ bible curriculum program.

This program is a way to slowly but surely introduce the lesson that is found in the bible to children. The scriptures are being taught in such a manner that makes it easier and more entertaining for them to learn. The basic precepts of the Bible are chosen and the more technical aspects are not being delved into so that it can be better appreciated by children.

The Bible is basically split into two parts which are namely the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is the original religious scripture of the Jewish people and is originally written in Hebrew and Aramaic. It has a historical character aside from its being religious in nature. This is why the old laws of the Hebrews have been included in it. The New Testament on the other hand focuses not on the law but on the life of Jesus Christ. The main subject is the role of Jesus as the Messiah, the son of God and the son of man.

Similarly, the kids’ bible curriculum program is also separated into two parts, the Old Testament curriculum and the New Testament curriculum. The Old Testament curriculum includes teachings starting from the Creation Story, the story of Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, and Abraham and Isaac. It also includes the story of Moses, the freedom of the Hebrews from Egypt and their journey to the Promised Land Canaan. Stories like that of Samson and Delilah, David and Goliath and the story of prophets such as Jeremiah, Joseph, Jacob, Daniel, Job and Samuel are also being taught under this curriculum.

The New Testament Curriculum particularly centers on the life of Jesus Christ– his great story life, death and resurrection. The story starts from the birth of John the Baptist then Jesus’ birth and childhood. The New Testament also tells different parables that Jesus Christ told to people. In addition, it includes the miracles that Jesus performed. In this curriculum, kids are also shown how to live the life of a true Christian.

In all, the Kids’ Bible Curriculum program is an excellent way of highlighting the religious beliefs of children and leading them into Christian living. It is an indication that leaders of the Christian faith recognize the role of young people as the prospect not only of the Christian community but also the entire world.

Parents can engage their children in joining kids’ bible curriculum program. In this way, the child can mold himself to be a good Christian follower and at the same time, be an obedient citizen of society. You can also try to become exciting children church lessons.
